SHEQ Centre of Excellence have developed a book to help organisations and health and safety personnel implement a Health & Safety Management System in line with the requirements of the International Standard OHSAS 18001.

 

The book explains what a management system standard is in simple terms, and provides guidance and template documents to help you comply with each part of the system. We also have a resource centre that clients can use to download other documents and access training material.

 

The SHEQ Centre Of Excellence has helped several organisations in different countries to implement systems and this book has distilled our experiences into a format that is easy to use and adopt.

MSc Occupational Health Online Course in UCC (Ireland)  2014-11-28

In addition to the face-to-face Masters course in Occupational Health, currently running in University College Cork (Ireland), a new online/distance learning MSc Occupational Health programme will soon be launched.

 

The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health in UCC will offer a new MSc in Occupational Health e-learning course starting in January 2015.  This course is entirely online and runs part-time over 18 monthsThe course integrates occupational health and safety into a multidisciplinary perspective and is ideal for those who want to study in the comfort of their home with maximum flexibility of timing.

 

This unique course offers you the opportunity to study modern cutting-edge scientific concepts and research evidence on causation, prevention and management of work-related accidents, injury and disease.

 

The interactive format of the teaching sessions is conducive to student networking and the sharing of knowledge and practical experience. In several modules students will work with practical case studies, engage in project work and reflective inquiry.

3 Day Safety Management System Training Course          2014-08-19

SHEQ Centre of Excellence will run a 3 day Health and Safety Management Training programme on November 12th, 13th and 14th.

 

The programme will provide participants with the knowledge and tools required to implement and maintain a Safety Management System that will comply with the international OHSAS 18001 Standard (and identify changes for new ISO 45001 Standard). It will also be a great help to those who want to improve their existing Health and Safety Management System and Safety Statement.

Niall O'Connell joins as Director of Centre of Excellence

We are delighted to announce that Niall O'Connell has joined us as Operations Director at SHEQ Centre of Excellence.

                                                                                 

Niall has worked in the Food & Beverage, Bulk Pharmaceutical, Food Processing, Electrical and Electronic Industry and he is an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional with 35 years experience in Manufacturing of which the last 11 years were with PepsiCo as EHS Lead.

 

Niall has a Masters degree in Occupational Health from University College Cork (UCC), BSc (Honours) in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment from the University of Greenwich London. Niall has also qualifications in Process & Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial Engineering.

 

Niall objective will be to develop the SHEQ Centre of Excellence as a word class Training and Consultancy service provider in the areas' of Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality.

Safety Risk Assessment Workshop

Centre of Excellence will be offering a new workshop on hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control. It wil he;lp cmpanies trying to comply with the requirements of intnernational management system standards such as OHSAS18001.
